BE Entrepreneurial
GRADE 8-9
The Be Entrepreneurial Programme introduces learners to the concept of putting together a business plan. It further supplements the academic curriculum requirements in preparing for the school market day. Furthermore, it is a 12-hour program in which learners develop the essential components of a business plan. In so doing, the programme challenges learners to start an entrepreneurial venture while still in high school.
Company Program
GRADE 10 -11
The Company program Plus (EP+) initiates students into business theory, followed by a mandatory venture into launching their own businesses. This flagship program is specifically designed for learners in grades 10-11, providing them with the opportunity to establish companies as a crucial aspect of their training. The EP is alternatively referred to as the Company program.
DISCOVER YOUR CAREER PROGRAM
Grade 10 - 11
Through the Discover Your Career (DYC) program, students discover career options, subject choices that inform these choices and about themselves and which careers are best suited to match their personality traits. At the end of the program learners have a better understanding of who they are, the career path they would like to take and what subjects they need to get there.
During the program students complete an online personality and thinking styles assessment and receive feedback on their personality and thinking styles enabling them to align to career options that match their personality and thinking styles.
School Enterprise Clubs
Grade 10-11
The JA School Enterprise Clubs support the continuity of student-led enterprises established by grade 10 – 11 learners on the JA Enterprise and Integrated Enterprise programs. The School Enterprise Club takes place after the completion of the company program.
The aim of the enterprise clubs is to:
promote continuous experiential enterprise education beyond the structured program phase;
support sustainability of student-led enterprises and participation in competitions;
encourage peer education and expand on project based learning – independent decision making
ensure continued enterprise education in-schools as the enterprise clubs generate enough funds to support the next cohort of learners.
All or part of the JA programs graduates will be invited to join the school enterprise clubs based on their performance during the program, availability and passion for continuous development.
IBM SKILLSBUILD
The IBM Skills Build for Students, which incorporates design thinking & entrepreneurial skills, is a 20-hour instructor-led programme targeting young people from ages 16 – 35 years. The programme provides modules for students and teachers that include courses on emerging technologies and courses on professional competencies, both leading to free digital badges that students can share on their online resumes.
MY MONEY BIZ
The My Money Biz program (MMBiz) is targeted at grade 11 learners with a focus on financial literacy. The program develops their ability to analyse their motivations about the uses of money through learning the basics of money management, and establish good financial habits which can carry over into their adult lives. The program increases the learners’ financial literacy, preventing them from making costly decisions that could have repercussions for many years to come.
MMBiz also helps learners develop their soft skills in research, analytical thinking, interview, personal communications, planning and writing skills.
SUCCESS SKILLS PROGRAM

JA Success Skills is designed to enhance your understanding, abilities, and individual attributes essential for excelling in academics, your professional journey, and society. Participants are exposed to real-world challenges, promoting critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
