Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

Junior Achievement South Africa (JA South Africa) equips young people with the skills they need to succeed in the global economy through experiential learning in financial health education, entrepreneurship and work readiness. Our programs prepare youth for the real world - building confidence, capability, and a pathway to economic independence.

Endorsed by the Department of Basic Education South Africa, we deliver impactful learning experiences in schools across South Africa, helping students develop critical skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience from an early age.

By nurturing entrepreneurial thinking, we empower young people to unlock opportunities, drive innovation, and contribute meaningfully to their communities - supporting South Africa’s vision of job creation and inclusive economic growth.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, our work advances Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, No Poverty, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities.

What We Do

Through a strong focus on financial health education, entrepreneurship, and work readiness skills, we empower youth to start their own businesses, access employment opportunities, and achieve long-term financial independence.

Our holistic approach to youth empowerment in South Africa is built on three core pillars:

Entrepreneurship

Our entrepreneurship education programs inspire young people to think innovatively, identify opportunities, and develop business ideas. Through hands-on learning experiences, participants gain practical skills in starting and managing small businesses, contributing to job creation and economic growth in South Africa.

Financial Health

We provide financial literacy programs that equip young people with essential money management skills, including budgeting, saving, and responsible financial decision-making. By strengthening financial health, we help youth build a foundation for economic stability and independence.

Work Readiness

We deliver work readiness programs that prepare youth for the modern workforce. By developing key employability skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and professionalism, we ensure young people are ready to transition successfully from education into the workplace.
