FUTURE-READY: JA SOUTH AFRICA & MICROSOFT TEACH YOUTH AI SKILLS
JA South Africa has officially partnered with Microsoft to empower over 5,000 young South Africans with essential career skills in Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). This groundbreaking initiative is designed to introduce youth to the foundational principles of AI and how these technologies are transforming various career paths across industries.
The program is being rolled out nationally with already over 2300, offering learners hands-on exposure to the capabilities and ethical considerations of AI, while helping them develop digital literacy, critical thinking, and adaptability, skills that are increasingly vital in the modern workforce.
"I have learned that we should use AI without losing the human touch" says Kgomotso Mokoena from Mabane Comprehensive High School.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification directly from Microsoft, enhancing their professional credibility and strengthening their LinkedIn profiles. The certification not only validates their knowledge but also opens new doors for employment and career growth in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment by JA South Africa and Microsoft to drive inclusive digital transformation and bridge the digital skills gap in underserved communities. Together, they aim to prepare today’s youth for the jobs of tomorrow.
