21,000 SA YOUTH TO GAIN ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS TO HELP BUILD RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
Friday, 16 May 2025: Johannesburg, South Africa – Junior Achievement (JA) South Africa in partnership with the Z Zurich Foundation, is excited to announce the third year of the JA Social Equity Program (SEP). The program, now in its third year, has equipped over 17 000 youth with skills needed to drive social change, foster entrepreneurship, and build resilient communities, culminating in its final year, the program is set to reach 21 000 South African youth across the country.
“Reflecting on the impact the program has made with over 500 social enterprises formed, we are so excited to reach even more young people, but most importantly equipping the youth with the tools and knowledge to build sustainable and community based businesses”, says Nelo Spies, Executive Director of JA South Africa.
We are so honoured to have former Deputy President Her Excellency give the keynote address at this Capstone event, where she will address,
“The Importance of Building Sustainable Businesses and Advancing Community Equity.”
The program’s four-day bootcamps, focusing on : leadership, financial literacy, and mental well-being and followed by two months of mentorship and coaching by industry leaders. This year, JA South Africa aims to extend this impact, calling on youth eager to make a difference in their communities to participate in this free developmental program.
